The thing about the manpain phenomenon (or at least one of the things?) in a narrative like Homestuck’s is that yeah, stamping out the traces of brooding and genuine bad feels some of these characters experience on occasion like they weren’t there at all isn’t so cool, and there are times when — with the right touch — pushing that sort of thing further for judiciously...
